In what cases EEG is used?
Uses of brain tape or EEG
An electroencephalogram (EEG) is a test that detects electrical activity in your brain.
An EEG can determine changes in brain activity that might be useful in diagnosing brain disorder. An EEG might also be helpful for diagnosing or treating the following disorders:
1. Epilepsy or another seizure disorder
2. Brain damage from head injury
3. Inflammation of the brain (encephalitis)
4. Brain tumor
5. Memory impairment
6. Sleep disorders
7. Stroke
A continuous EEG is used to monitor all brain activities for someone in a medically induced coma.
This test can also be used for monitoring brain activities during brain surgeries.
